Born in Potenza in 1971, son of the folk singer Pietro Basentini, Emanuele started playing guitar as a child and approached Jazz music in 1984. Established in Rome in 1990 quickly became noticed among Italy's jazz scene.
Over the course of his career Emanuele collaborated with some of the most influential American and European jazz musicians; he performed in many important festivals and theatres, participated in several TV shows and recordings, and taught in many schools and Conservatories.
Since 2013 Emanuele has lived in New York City where he plays with the saxophonist Alex Hoffman. His band performs in the most acclaimed NYC's clubs, hotels and restaurants.
